The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) operates a meteorology and soil observation station on the Jornada Experimental Range as part of the SCAN network. In addition, extensive pedon and soil map data for the Jornada Basin are archived in NRCS databases (SSURGO and STATSGO).
