Conduct & Diversity Statement

The code of conduct and diversity and inclusion policies of the Jornada Basin LTER are currently being discussed and drafted. A more formal statement will be forthcoming, but our core values are summarized below:

Code of conduct:

The Jornada Basin LTER, its participants, and our collaborators:

  • should encourage a culture of respect, safety, and cooperation among all researchers and students,
  • must not tolerate discrimination, intimidation, or harassment of any kind, and
  • must abide by principles of academic integrity and ethical professional conduct.

The Jornada Basin LTER and our partner institutions will provide the training and support to make this code of conduct a reality, and will hear and assist any principal investigators, postdocs, students, technicians, collaborators, or other staff who feel that this code of conduct has been breached.

Diversity and Inclusivity:

We encourage and embrace diversity among our principal investigators, postdocs, students, technicians, and collaborators. We therefore make every effort to provide an inclusive and safe work and learning environment for persons of any race, nationality, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, language, religion, disability and/or health status, gender identity/expression, veteran status, geographic origin, and socio-economic status.
